Anyone Raced in District 23 ARMCA in Minnesota?
I'm hoping to maybe give it a shot this year so has anyone here tried it?
I have an 86 Suzuki LT230S that's pretty quick for a 250.
What are the classes for the ATV Hare Scrambles?
How competitive are the races? Is everyone pro or is it just normal people having a good time riding fast, or somewhere in between?
I like to think I'm a good rider but I'm certainly not a pro racer or anything, and I don't want to become a track obstacle.
Does their rule book state what gear you need?
Thanks for any answers you may have!
Sorry if you saw this on the other topics, I somehow overlooked this thread!

Hey, you may want to check out http://bb.armca.org .. which are the forums for District 23. You may post in the General Discussion area on the top ... I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.

I had actually checked out that site but considering the most popular topic was "Man this place is dead" (or something similar) I thought I might have better luck on here. I also emailed the guy to contact about those races but haven't heard back yet.

From Article III in the ARMCA rule book:
Quad classes include, Quad Senior 40+, Quad Sport A, B and C, Mini Quad 4-8 and 8-15, Utility and Women (any displacement).
I am just guessing here, but you will probably need at least a tether kill switch, nerf bars, and full riding gear (pants/jersey/boots/gloves/helmet/goggles/chest protector).
I share your skepticism with jumping into racing in a league for the first time. I'll be racing Production 450 C Motocross this year with the quad. If you feel you're a good rider, I'm sure there will be people slower than you ... and of course several that are faster. I figure I'm not getting any younger so I'm giving it a try...

Atvman, if you go back on the ARMCA site there is a specific link to hare scrambles. It should give the class reps email address and they are pretty helpfull with info you need. I believe for hare scrambles there is something about having to work setting up and stuff. Klier, Chase wanted me to pass along that he is looking forward to trading paint with you this year. Atvman, maybe you should come and play with us MX'ers we have a blast. I have to throw this in, from days of thunder when he told him he's fast now lets see what you do in a crowd LOL.

Looking forward to it Todd! We're hitting the Sandbox Arena on the 15th of February again. I had a blast there .. it's such a good track now! Chase should come out and get used to his new quad before the season starts. By the way, I think I did shave some paint off my nerf bar taking the inside on someone on Sunday. Haha!

DeviousPete, you would have a blast. Of course the competition is stiff but we all have a great time, sometimes the camping nights is too good of time. Hope to see you out there. If there is anything that you need or have questions klier or I could help you out or send you in the right direction.
