Default What atv should i get?

I am thinking about getting into youth quad racing in new jersey but I am not sure what would be a good quad to buy and then upgrade with some mods like exhaust, air filter, rejett and anything else I can do besides boring over or swapping motors or anything like that.I am 5'6" 130 lbs and was thinking about either a trx90 or raptor 90 or 125.And is the 125 small enough for me at 14 to race because I know nj has some stupid laws.I am a experianced rider and ride 400s and 650s.So what would be the best quad and some suggestions on mods it has to be used and not to expensive.thanks

You really need to check with the race series you wish to participate in. At 5'6" and 130 pounds you are to big for any of those 90cc machines. The Raptor 125 shares the 250 frame, and could be a good choice if it is class appropriate. At 14 you could ride a 300EX or Blaster for many of the xc series. Not sure about MX/flattrack, etc.

Go for an old beat up blaster. If its an old pile, then thats better. Pour money into it like no tomorrow just to fix stuff that breaks. Thats what I did. I learned soooo much off of that old thing. She blew up and I rebuilt her. Cost me $850 bucks with parts and $55/hr labor. She was blown bad. I learned everything that I know now from that, and looking back, I had $2500 stuck into it including buying it and all I had on it for aftermarket was nerf bars, k&n filter, full fmf system, odi grips, chain and sprockets, chain rollers, front wheel bearings and swingarm bearings. If I could go back and put that money towards a 400ex or something nice, I wouldnt. The expiriance was worth every penny. Now I have a mint condition 400ex and I can take care of it like its my kid. Just my 2 cents. Do what you like.
