Default CHeck It Out

Hey Guys,

I don't know a hell of a lot about Sport ATV's But I'm in the market for one. Please Tell Me your thoughts on if you had to go get the money together and buy a new quad which would it be? Banshee, Raptor, Predator, or YFZ450.

Which One is the Fastest?

I'm 6 Foot and 200LBS. I won't Be using this bike for MX at all. The only thing It will see is Trail Riding and The Occasional Jump ( Nothing Crazy ) But If my friend has another Bike (I.E Predator, TRX450, 400EX, Banshee, Z400, KVF700, ETC) Will I be able to overtake them in a straight Line Race with The 2004 660R Raptor Stock vs. Stock?

Another question is Would a Stock 2004 Raptor Take a 1998 KX250 2 Stroke Stock DirtBike in a Straight Line or say Roll on Race?? Which Is Faster?

Thanks For all your help.

hmm lets c
the banshee is going to be usless on any surface except for the dunes and the road. the yfz is built for racing.

the pred and the raptor would be my choice. stock speed would go to the pred, but i have heard the powerband on the raptor is huge, and have also heard of the raptors tranny being bad. i dont know if they have fixed it or not.
The pred will be a good all around quad and would be my choice if i was ever to get a quad.

i dont know about all those drags either

For the drag racing....get the Banshee.

For any other type racing, go with the new YFZ450 or TRX450R. Better suspension and smoother power than a Banshee.

As for the drag race with the KX250 dirt bike...............
There isn't a production quad made stock out of the box that would run with any 250 two stroke dirtbike in a drag race with perfect traction conditions for the dirtbike....and a rider who can ride one. If the drag race was a long one, it would be worse because the 250 class bikes all run from 77 to 85mph top speed.......which no quad out of the box can do.

Aye, any 250cc dirtbike will eat your lunch in a drag weither it was short or long. Dirt Bikes are just faster than quads, no matter the conditions. Quads are more fun to ride IMO.

the drag race heiarchy typically goes this way, I know there will be some opposition somewhere, so i present this as a broad guideline.

quadzilla
yfz 450, trx 450
ds 650
banshee, raptor
kfx700, predator
kfx/ltz/dvx 400 triplets
honda 400ex

that said, with a pipe on a ds 650, raptor, or banshee, you should be able to beat the stock 450 machines.

i understand the quadzilla is no longer in production, so you can probabaly factor that out of your considerations

good luck with your purchase. the best way to make a choice is to get on as many of the machines as you can and ride them. The way the bike feels underneath you will have a much greater impact on you than a few hp.

my freind is 6'2, and 220 lbs, and hes got a raptor...i think youll fit on the raptor best...it wont bore you with its power, and my freind beats his unmercifully and hes never had any problem with it. it is one of the best woods machines ive ever been on...all in all a well made and well desighned machine....cant go wrong...polaris is fast, but junk because it is polaris. if you start doing heavy jumping, youll need some suspention mods on the rappy, but for woods riding it is an awesome machine.
