take a look at a MOJAVE it is liquid cold and it has a sport suspention and u can get frount and rear racks for some yard work too. mi nabor has one and he likes like his old lt 500 wich he sold. or the ozark 250 is a sport /utility, it has geat power and it is well balenced for jumping. my father has the OZARK and i bet the sh*t out of it and it sill is running finee. it is has a semie auto cluch or u shift with no cluch it is done for u in the tranny.

 

I'd say if he's used to the snap of a kx85, then a Z400 or 400EX might be a good ride for him ... if he's a lighter fella, the weight of the warrior might be harder for him to handle than the power of the 400's ...

 

i think that the z 400 is way to big u should look at the lakota 300or a 250

 

300ex, i would rather have a chain driven than a shaft driven, and if he has been riding dirt bikes he will proly be used to the clutch and shiftng, and the speed to

 

mojave is the best option for him, it is pretty mild stock but when modded it comes to life really well. he is already using a clutch and a kick start so he will be use to it.

 

If he is a descent rider i would get him something bigger like a warior or 400ex then you wont have to buy him a bigger quad when the other one gets to small. just my 2 cents

get the kid a warrior im 18 years old 6'2 180lbs and fits me just fine and since he is use to dirtbikes which i have had them since i was 8 he should be able to handle it and have a lil growing room were u just as well could jump on it and ride it

 

400 ex is what i started on and if i was u i wouldnt get a warrior not puting anything down but it didnt do anything for me

 

I agree with those that suggested a blaster... and there are tons of aftermarket stuff to hop it up when he gets able to take it to it's limits. Of course you have the maintenance that you have with any 2 stroke... but that can be managed. I would suggest that you have the dealer convert it over to premix instead of relying on the oil injection right off the bat... it will save you a lot of headaches in the long run. Simple procedure, only takes a bb in the oil line... A warrior is a little big for him right now..a lot more weight than the blaster.. Besides you can get a new blaster for around 3 large bills...
