Default Insurance problems

My insurance company has a size and price restrictions for new atv's. I tried calling around but most of them have the same policies and other companies just wont insure big bore bikes. most limits are set at 500cc any bigger they dont want ya or u have to a high risk company. i am from ontario is there any one else who is having the same problems ...and what other companies do u guys go thru? Most of them wont take you unless your car is insured thru them. I dont want to have to change all my insurances for home and auto just cuse i want a 500cc+ bike ...???? Help? any one got any ideas or information?

Default Insurance problems

I had the same problem when trying to insure my SP 600. I now have my insurance with Gore Mutual through a broker. My ATV is costing around $400/year plus taxes for full coverage ( Liability, Comprehensive and Collision ). Gore will not inusre ATVs unless your car is with them as well. I tried RBC ( they will not insure anything above 500cc ) and Pilot ( must have car insured there as well ). Good luck.

Default Insurance problems

Hello all, this is my first post here.

I have been checking into insurance and though I would share what I found. I have not purchased an atv yet but wanted to find out what the insurance was going to do to my pocket book.

I called Markel American Insurance first, (888-755-4288).
I asked for a quote for a 04 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO.
Full coverage with a 500 deductable is 333 per year.
Full coverage with a 1000 deductable is 303 per year.

Progressive is my auto carrier so I called them to find out what they were going to charge me
I do not know what atv I am going to get so I asked for several quotes on different machines. Interestingly enough, the price was the same for all three.
-Polaris Sportsman 500 HO
-Polaris Sportsman 700 EFI
-Kawasiki 700 twin.
The quote I got was for full coverage again with 50/100/25 comprehensive. All riders covered and also covers theft and act of God.
500 deductable is 302.01 per year
1000 deductable is 250.00 per year.

Good luck.

Default Insurance problems

I have a $200 deductible w/full coverage and pay $107 per year. Went through Liberty Mutual Insurance Company out of Wausau, WI. We are getting a bit of a discount cause we have other Insurance with them. Liberty has a website so maybe check them out, if you go through the Wausau one ask for Virgil and maybe he can get your rate down. Good luck!!
