6'5" Tall - Which Quad to Buy?

Been there, done that! I'm 6'3" and a biscuit or two under 300lbs and I looked at a lot of quads before I found a few that I felt were comfortable.
The quads that I felt the most comfortable on were the Polaris Sportsman or Magnum, Yamaha Grizzly, and my final choice, the Arctic Cat 500.
The nice thing about Arctic Cat is that ALL of their quads have about the same body and I would fit on a 300cc as well as I fit on my 500cc. I really like mine, BUT I don't know how easy it would be to find a good used one.
Stay away from the Suzuki King Quad or the Honda TRX 300cc 4x4. If his legs are fairly proportional to his height, he may find it hard to change gears.
Good Luck!
Hmmmm...why don't you just give him your Traxter and you buy a NEW one!

Have you considered a new husband (grin)?
Just kidding. I couldn't pass it up though. I am sorry that I can't help you there. I ride a King Quad and have no experience with the larger machines.
Good luck.

sbgte.
I don't know about other manafactures,But Honda quads have two factory spring options although 99% of dealers only stock and sell the first one.(second one must be ordered)
1--Pasenger weight 190LBS and below.
2--Pasenger weight 190Lbs and above.(heavyer duty spring)
The only reason I know this is my budy,6,4-310lbs size 14 clown shoe.Borrowed my other budys 99-450ES for the week end.He liked the quad but,He said the suspention felt lose and pushed in the turns.Power was good and he registered the top speed on that machine for the day.But the machine seemed burdened by pasenger weight.
So when I got home I called the dealer and that's when I found out about the different spring options. My budy was thinking of buying a quad.Good luck.
