a mostly stock Honda 250R kicks my *** all around and mines not even stock.

I still cant beat the 250Rs and neither can anyone else on a Raptor or DS650

ur choices are one if u dont want the yfz: 450R

 

Im telling you ; if you want to beat the yfz w/o putting ungodly amounts of $$$ in to a two stroke then you need to get a faster yfz than what your friends is. Stock for stock the yfz will eat a pred , a DS, A banshee, and no question a 450r. The Yfz is the best there is for right now.

 

a scrambler 400 can easily beat them with some mods.

Hey worm, Scram is right, sort of. It takes a bit of work to make a scram run but when they do they are quick. A scram with just an HPD Powermax topend, pipe and carb (with a good setup) runs low 5's high 4 sec in 300ft at the same track stk YFZ's run 5.7's 5.6's with lid and baffle removed, even our 50rwhp pump gas setups only run 5.2-5.3 in 300ft.
But your right too, stk for stk the scram has NO chance.

Damn yfz owners think nothing can touch thier quads.

Say you spend 6500 for a yfz. I can buy a banshee for at least 5500, install a set of pipes, filter, and have the head ported and your yfz is toast.

Heck, do the same comparison with a raptor, install a pipe filter and cam and you'll be beating stock yfz's all day long.

Now the handling wont be the same, but how many of you guys ever really make it to an mx track? 1 in 1,000 yfz owners maybe.

 

the honda trx 450r is about dead even with the yamaha 450 depends who gets the hole shot and its a better trail quad , the yfz is a better mx quad, in my opion the honda is a better all day riding quad than the yfz and i like the kick start to.

 

oh and most drags are won in the first 10 feet depends who hooks up better and has a better reaction time and can keep the front end down.its as much rider as it is quad.
