Default Trying to decide which ATV to get.

I've wanted an ATV for a long long time, and am finally at the point where i can auctually afford one.

I am looking at the 400cc range, 300 just seems like it will be a bit small, and the bodys are usually smaller, since im not going to be doing anything heavy duty (mudding etc) and have 3 that have caught my eye.

The Arctic Cat 400 4x4 series.

The Honda FourTrax Rancher

The Honda FourTrax Foreman ES.

The current concerns i have are

Warranty / Service, AC has a 2 year warranty standard on their ATV's and Honda only a 6 month with an option to extend it to 4 years for $800 here.

Reliability, which one is going to last longer, i plan on owning this ATV for at least 5 years if not longer, i want something that will hold up.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

edit: forgot to add that i am 6'2" 240lbs and 29

i think you should look at the sportsman 400, or magnum 330. both atvs are great and the 400 has an independant rear suspension for smoother riding.

Sportsman 400 Is basically a 500 with a 400 engine. Actually the 400 weighs more than the 500 and has no engine- breaking. I like polaris but for these reasons I never liked the 400.

I have 02 foreman s, does great for me. I looked into AC and was impressed but I got too good of a deal on honda. How are you going to use your atv? recreation, trails, around the property, ever mudding? AC does have the warranty and disc brakes but honda is reliable.

Im planning on using it for trails, recreation, occasional towing/hauling. No mudding if i can help it.

I decided to get the AC 400, mainly because after test driving all of them i just absolutely love the feel of the suspension and handling on it, honda just seemed way too stiff.

Thanks for all the input =)

I'd go with the Honda Foreman, My buddy has one and it puts up with alot of abuse and it's still going strong. The only problem he has with it is he has to adjust the brakes frequently. I'd like to trade my kawi in for a honda but I can't get the money I want for it.

Let me try to understand. You went out, test drove the ones you were interested in, then bought the one you liked the most. What kind of way is that to buy an Atv. LOL..... Good luck with your new ride
