The 400EX and 300EX are the best trail machines ever. The Z is great also, but the engine doesn't like to lug down as well as the Hondas.

The 400ex has no reverse (unless you buy it new) , the 300ex has goofy reverse and ugly styling, I would (if possible) get a Z400...Not bashing on the other machines but the Z seems like a better buy, its just too expensive.

well id still say get the 400ex caseu thats what i thought when i was deciding to get a quad. do i really need reverse? well i decided no but my trails are just barely wide enough to fit 2 quads so i can just turn the handle bars and spin it around but how much money do you have oo spend and how big are the trails that YOUD be riding on??

well the 400ex would also be the best combo for the open gravel roads and the trails/mud
