First off, can you manage the clutch? I have a 2004 250ex for my son and he loves it. No clutch. I also have a 2002 piped Blaster that I tried to teach him how to ride and he hates the constant shifting so he stays in the power band. The Blaster has the most bang for the buck.

If you are in-between, then the Z-250 is your best bet.

Main point: get the right bike for your ability and your preferences and have a bunch of fun!!!!!!!!!!

blaster is two stroke, the rest are 4.
the z-250 and ex, are too slow!
the blaster dont have reverse.
the z and ex dont have clutch wich in my opinion is to boring.
you can get a conversion kit for the z.
the blaster has so menny hop up options it's not even funny.

Hmmm... 16, and no experience...
Well.....

Blaster is a good choice.
400EX is also good, but be careful at first.
300EX also good.

In the end, you WILL be wanting more power, so don't go too big at first, but at the same time, give yourself room to grow!

What kind of riding, and how much money??
I think if you answer that, people can help you out a lot better.
