Getting Bord

Alright Im 16, 6'0, and 180lbs and I have been riding 4-3 wheelers my whole life. My first bike was a 84 70atc and now I own a 97' 200type 2 and ride my dads 85' 200s 3 wheeler. My buddy and I ride about a few places in northern Va and he is blowing me away with his trx300. I do alot of trail riding but I was looking into doing some mediocre jumping. I have gotten very bord with my bike and I was first off wondering what a honda 97' type 2 (great condition; runs great good tires no body damage) goes for. Looking to sell my bike and adding in 1000 buks. Also what should I consider for my next bike I was looking into the more sporty quads [250ex, 300ex, 400ex] or even some of the old 3 wheelers like the [200x]. By the way guys some of the places I do ride have some good size ruts and can fill up with water quick if you know what i mean.

Any help from the peanut gallery would be greaty appreciated!

Yeah the 200x seems like a really fun bike but I was worried about it going through the mud. Also If you were to compare the 200x to one of the modern quads what would you compare it to (300ex)??

Get a KFX400/Z-400 or Rapter 660 for trails. Rapter wheelies very good.

I doubt I can get a used one of those in the 3000 dollar price range (their to new)? ^2 strokes and trailing I heard dont mix I wont have fun with the powerband and bogs down (hills and mud).

It wont bog if you know how to use the clutch right, and I'm not talking about when you just get going nor when you're shifting through gears.

A 200x is a good choice. They will go anywhere a 2wd quad will go. I'd look for a 350x if you want a trike. You can find one for about the same price as a 200x. A 300ex or even a 250x would be a great trail bike. They can be found for around 1700 bucks in good shape. You will be very happy with a 300ex compared to a old type 2 200.

If you want the most bang for your buck find a banshee. It is not the best trail bike but it will not run out of power climbing hills. A banshee will hang with any sport bike produced and you can pick one up for under 2 grand. I would suggest riding a banshee before you buy anything else. (if you haven't already rode one)

So we have narrowed it down to a used Banshee, 300ex, or 200x...Ive heard stuff about the 350x 3 wheeler and heard it is a very dangerous bike. Yes I have experience on 3 wheelers but that bike might not have the stabilty for the trails I ride. Another question I have is if I buy an older model banshee am I gonna have problems with engine life and running problems? Last question is will the 200x keep up with my buddies 94 trx 300?

Thx guys the info is great its helping alot
