Dealer/State Issues
Hi, Thanks for looking.
We went to the our local Honda dealer today and were not impressed. They gave us a quote saying $7282 out the door. 6649 for the quad, ~350 for the freight, 45 "doc" fees, ~400 tax etc.... I did some research a bit ago and found this, They pay almost $5000 for the quad and freight is about $150 for about 500 miles. Now here are some of my questions...
- What would be a fair price OTD on a 2005' TRX 450R? A 2004'? (in California)
-Same question but in Oregon?
-We do 95% of all our riding in Oregon, do we have to register in CA to ride here?
-If we do have to register in CA do we have to buy a ATV permit in OR to ride? (like the ones you can get at the dealers, not parking permit)
Thanks, because if we choose to buy a quad in Oregon and then if we have to register it in CA then we will get jammed with taxes when registering it.

Let him know he isn't the only dealer in CA... give him an opportunity to earn your business. If he doesn't budge, then you take your money elsewhere. You don't need to be confrontational.. just ask if there is anything they can do to lower the price. If he wants you as a customer, he will make an effort.

I believe if you reg in california you still have to buy a oregon permit if you reg in oregon CA will honor oregon license. If you have friends or relatives in oregon that would be your best bet you must have a physical address for oregon reg. If you are not totally stuck on honda there is a Suzuki dealer in Orland Ca you will not beat his prices any where!!
