Default 6'8" 300lbs Which Bike?

I went to the dealership today to look at bikes that fit me.. they showed me the bomb. 650 and the kawasaki v700. Also showed me the 4x4s. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I'm way to big for the typical sport atv. I'm thinking that I will mainly ride on trails, fields, light snow, and a little sand (might get contagious).. so I think a sportier bike would fit me better... Is there any really tall guys riding atv's here? I've seen a few of the 6' and 6'3 guys post about these two bikes..

I'm 6' 3" 175lbs but your way up there!! but I'd think that really any of the bigbores would be big enough for you because on my King Quad I've got leg room to spare and I heard of a guy that bought a bigbore quad that was 7' 3" and he said he could just barely fit but he could fit comfortably. The Prairie 700 is very sporty because it has the solid axle in the back that you can throw around corners easily and it has good power with the V-twin, but weighing 300lbs you might want to look at a little bigger engine like the BF 750 or the Bomb 800 because when I ride double(a little over 300lbs) on my KQ I can fell a slight drop off in power simply because the engine is having to work harder to carry the extra weight around, but the Bomb 800 is very expensive($8500+) compared to the the BF 750($7500) so you should probably check the BF 750 out before the bomb 800, it's also a little bit bigger than the KQ(in overall size).

The KFX700 would probably be good for you. I'm not quite as tall as you but I kinow what you mean -- the reguarl sport quads are too small. I'm 6-2 and 250, and I fit on it fine. I even fit on it fine with my stepson on the back and he's the size of a small adult.

I'm 6-5 and 235lbs. My 05 Grizz is perfectly compatible for both me and my wife, "add on seat rear" and will take us both up the steepest hill I Dare to go up, "all 4 wheels spinning"and fly on the dry lake beds here in Nevada, I sat on many big quads before making the decision to go with the Grizzly,, Best choise I could have made!

My brother is 6'4" and rides a 400ex. Sounds like your looking for a sport quad, so why not try out the 700 raptor. I've heard the ds650 is good for taller riders too but that it's heavy. The kfx 700 is an auto.
At 6'8", just don't ride behind anybody named David on the rocky trails

I think a lot of the size thing will have to do with how you're proportioned(longer legs, shorter chest area or vice versa, arm length, etc). My husband is 6'5" and has a lot of leg and arm(he's got the reach of a large ape) and had to modify his raptor to make it a good fit(he makes my Preddy look like a toy). His "little" brother is 6'4" and the stock Raptor was a good fit since he's got more length in the chest. You're probably going to have to go sit on a few quads to get the feel. If you're open to modifying to get the fit you want on the quad you want, do some searching to see what the possibilities are.

Good luck

I agree with codyormoe, you may have to keep an open mind about modifying a quad just a tad to fit better. Look and sit on the big bore sport quads if that is the way you are leaning. Keep in mind you can get taller bars relatively cheaply, although if the bars are a lot taller you might have to replace some control cables also(brakelines, clutch, throttle, etc.) DG makes nerfbars that lower the footpegs an inch or so, and I'm sure if you look around, others have lowering kits for footpegs as well. The point is, pick a quad with the features you like/want and don't be afraid to personalize it. No one makes a quad specifically for you 6'8" guys, lol.

get the DS. HomeLoanPro, if you want a sport bike. It is great in the sand, if you have sand near you, you will be glad ya did.

Im 6'3 and 280 and i love my DS! the ergonomics feel great and the seat is nice and comfy. Not to mention it has 12 inches of travel all the way around. Even with me at 280 i can still hang with and beat most other big bore sport atvs. with you being 6'8 i think a set of high bend bars would be a must. Before you buy anything go to your Bomb dealer and test ride the DS its the only sport bike for big guys in my opinion. Hope this helps
