Can you put a K&N filter and a slip on aftermarket exhaust on with out messing up the fuel injection. How much will it compensate for? What are some of the out of the box mods you can do to improve the performance? I have a z400 and I do all my own maintiance . I dont like to have to pull the cams to set the valves. Since I was in there I did the stage 2 hot cams. I just think the Raptor 700 would be more worker maintance friendly. I have not checked them out but they look more like the jam nut rocker arm setup as on my 400 ex I used to have . any feed back would be appreciated.

You have both the Z400 and the Raptor 700? How do they compare? Does the 700 smoke the 400? Which handles better? Jumps?

I dont have a 700 yet but that is what I am sort of leaning to do to valve bucket cam set in the new 450 dual over head cams which the z 400 has and is a pain to set. I believe in not having to remove the cams to set the valves and not having to tear down and remove the gas tank to pull the spark plug. I assume by looking at it , it would be maintinace friendly like the 400ex. After alittle grinding and polishing, I finnally got were Im faster than a buddy that has 2 honda 400exs. If I had to do it over I would have stuck with my 400ex. He just hot camed his bike so now maybe he will run with me in the sand or maybe beat me. The 400ex handles and rides much better in the sand dunes and dune trails. I even got on his the last time we rode to see for sure what I was feeling was correct and the honda did take the rough sand better, it felt solider and it turned and cornered with alot less effort. Now flat stock, I would say the z400 is faster. My z400 wheelies alot easier which took some getting use to on the big razzor backs. Stock it was just so boring to drive. I have it setup where it is fun to redline it. In the trails , I cant tell a big differance from a stock one but in the sand on the dunes it really shows. I just thought I would try a 700 and have easier maintanance and have a bike that is not to much heaverier than the 400s or 450s with a lot of torque stock. Let it breath alittle and it should do pretty good. Im working on a deal to get one for alittle under $6K new plus tax out the door. Im to afraid the Portugal atv place maybe a scam for $4200 plus 300 for shipping . It sounds good but could be a bad deal. I have been trying to find out if anyone knows of this outfit. They have a nice web site at moto summer.com but anyone could do that and show and list everything. I myself would like to know the answer to your question of which is fastest. As for the old 660 which I would not own, the z400 and 400ex were pretty fast with it up to into the middle of 3rd gear in the sand and then the 660 would just keep on pulling away. Alittle work and I think you could have a fast 700.
