A Blaster is still a decent step up performancewise. It is small and light. The engine can be modded to be pretty fast. It is capable of getting you started jumping and what not, just don't be surprised when your skill starts to exceed the quads abilities. Since you have some riding experience, I would still go for the 400EX as I think you would get more use out of one.
