Ive been lookin for a quad for a few months now.. not too expensive beacuse i dont have too much money. I was looking in the 2 grand range. Anyways i was lookin in the local newspaper today and they had a 300 ex listed. Its a 2000 with white brothers exhaust, new handle bars, and skid pates. The motor has been rebuilt and he has all the paperwork i belive. I went out and looked at it this evening and took it for a ride. It rode awesome and shifted through the gears perfect. The plastics were scratched up pretty good and it was melted through where the aftermarket exhaust is and there was a small crack in the front plastics. Anyways he was askin 1800 for it but i think i talked him down to 1600 what is everyones opinion on this bike..any problems i should be aware of. Ill just be doing trail riding. Sorry i dont have any pics.

That sounds pretty good. Plastics take a beating over time, I wouldn't worry about that to much. As long as the frame is holding up well, no rusted through parts or paint chipping/peeling around the joints(especially at the shock/swingarm mounts) then chances are the quad is fine. Sounds like it is good mechanically. Let us know how it goes if you buy it.

Thanks for the info everyone!! I talked to him today it was the shifting rod that was replaced and it was bored .010 over by a local shop here. The motor work was done by the person he bought it off of. And the guy that is selling it now has had it for a year, told me he wanted to sell it because he wanted a utility bike for winter..
