Do you need high ground clearance, maybe 4-wheel drive, or racks to carry things. If so, you may want a utility. If you don't need these things, then you are better off on a sport quad!

Of the sport quads, if I were 14 again and your weight I would be ripping around on a Yamaha Raptor 250! It is ultra light, has a real manual transmission, and should flat out rip.

If you need a utility, I would suggest the Honda Recon. It is 2wd, and tons of fun to ride!

It all comes together: big fenders for mud protection, racks, high ground clearance, and 4wd. These machines tend to be HEAVY and LARGE. Sport quads are 313-400 pounds, and most of the utilities start at around 600 pounds. You weight 130 pounds, and your roll a 600+ pound quad and it ends up on top of you...think about that one for a while!

The smaller 4wd's are in the 350-450 class. I have the smallest Honda 4wd which is the Rancher, and it is a real peach!

yamaha wolvy 450 is a sport ute 4wd around 500lbs i think. you picked a good time to get one 07's on sale 08' fresh out. polaris is the only true 4wd on the market right now. just remember 4wd's are heavy so if they start to go JUMP OFF quick. my advice is look at all the brands pick the one you like best and can afford

How can you say that Polaris is the only "true 4x4" on the market? That's just plain wrong. All the top manufacturers have spooled rear-ends with lockable front differentials on their flagship machines. If anything, Polaris is the worst setup because it uses a system that requires the rear wheels to slip before it will engage the fronts. So there is no true locked-in 4x4 on the Polaris.

Lockers and shift on the fly 4x4 are the best, Imo. Im not a big fan of Polaris 4x4 systems, or the Visko lock

if you buy used, you could get a Honda 300 4X4, the newest ones you can get are 2001s. they go about 45, and are geared low, good mudders, and if you do it right, they are easy to wheelie.

I actually agree with reconranger here. I had a 13 year old cousin die two months ago because his ATV rolled on top of him. It wasn't even a "big heavy utility" either, but even a lighter sport quad can kill someone when it rolls. Sport ATV also ad more speed, and that can be a dangerous combo too. Get a smaller, lighter 4x4, then you can grow into something later. 4 years from now you will be ready for a 650+ ATV, but a 250-400 would be perfect for you for the next several years. Good luck.
