2009 Can Am Renegade 800R, purchased new, paid $10,400 with tax. Traded in a 2007 Grizzly 700 that was paid off, that paid for roughly half of the Can Am, and used a Can Am financing deal that had six months with no interest and no payments. Then we payed off the loan two months later when I got my year end bonus. We've done that a lot in the last five years, namely, used a manufacturer's zero interest and zero payment credit plan, and payed the loan off before any interest accrues. We don't buy something we cannot afford, but we buy it six months or so before we can afford it because of the manufacturers financing.

I got my 300ex as a leftover, The dealership got it in the spring of '05 and it stayed there untill December of '05, so instead of paying $4900, I paid $4000. It also helped that I knew the salesman

When I was younger I got sucked in on a new sv650s, took a while to pay off. I ended up paying about 10k for a 6k bike and said never again. I spent about 5 weeks looking for a quad and picked up a clean 04 kfx700 for $2600, that was only 1 hour away. I have never had a problem with the quad, only good times. With the money I saved I was able to do some nice modds to it. If you take the time there are great deals out there, especially now. As far as warranties go, rip off. I paid for the extended warranty on the Sv650s and brought it in every 2900k miles for everything that I needed to keep my warranty good. About 3 years later I wanted to use the warranty that I paid for. They told me that I voided my warranty because I should have been bringing it in every 2000k miles not every 3000k miles. On top of paying for the extended warranty I waisted about $200 hundred every time I came in. Needless to say the cops had to ask me to leave, was not a good day.

We financed all our ATV's. I've financed two snowmobiles in the past too. I go through my credit union. IIRC their rates were like 5.9%. I put some cash down and then go two or three years to pay it off. I liked doing it this way. My payments were low, I didn't get killed with interest and I kept cash for a rainy day. All were bought new, we haven't bought any toys in a while though.
