Buying atv friday i need help!
Ok I'm going to buy a 2003 Honda 400ex Friday for $1800 and I really don't know if I should get a sport bike or utility. I found a 2003 Honda Rancher for the same price but the display is busted it looks like a rock hit it. I am mainly going to use the bike to go fishing and mudding but I want some speed and power that's why I picked a 400ex. I weigh almost 280lb and I'm 6'3... yeah I know I'm big. Most of my friends say go with the 400ex but one is changing my mind by saying sport bikes break every other ride. Is this true? Do I need a 4x4?

400ex is as reliable as any sport quad out there. If you keep an eye on regular maintenance and the chain it will last quite a while. The limitations to a sport quad is mainly the ground clearance. You can get hung up where a utility has the clearance to get through fairly easily. This is what a sport quad rider has to do to get through a rutted foot deep mud/water hole:
I had got through the same hole with minimal effort and just one water soaked shoe. Where I live, in New England there are rocks and water/mud holes everywhere you go so a 4x4 is a better machine for our riding.
