Price guide for used atv's

Does anyone know of a good site where a guy can get the value of a used atv? I googled it and could not find anything decent?

NADA can give you a rough idea. Best thing is looking on craigslist or another local ad source and see what the current prices are. There's no real set pricing guide.

x2 on what scoot said-

what's the atv you're trying to price out?

I'll give you a price ;)

Motorcycles - Kelley Blue Book will give you a good idea of retail and trade in prices.

2009 Suzuki quad 500 with winch, 2900 miles, not sure of the hours? Dealer is asking $5900, Very good condition, I would assume they would come down some?

If they took it in on trade, I'd guess they gave maybe 3200. It would be selling for about 5300 here. Any adds ons (winch etc..) should not make a difference in price. Trust me, they didn't give anything extra for those when they took it in.

Two things you can do. Take in cash. A stack of money always helps. If that doesn't work, ask them about them financing it, and what companies they use that give them back money. If you do go the financing route, take the money you would have paid cash and on the first payment, pay it off.

Also find out how long they've had it. Nothing is worse for their pockets than used items that sit in the store.

yep. dealers won't pay much for the "extras" on trade-ins, maybe 10-15% of the add-on value.
I've noticed (and caught) a lot of dealers removing the winch, then offer it
as an additional option for extra money when the atv sells- There's a used motorsports dealer in maine that actually removes the winches on every polaris that comes in- and then charges you an extra $350 for the winch when you buy the bike- I caught him on ebay one day and called him out on it. He had the same atv listed on cl and it had a winch on the front- then listed it on ebay and he removed the winch and was selling it for extra money- when I sent him an email asking about where the winch was from the cl ad- he said "polaris atv's don't come standard with winches, if I'd like to purchase one he could install it for $350"

anyway- I'm assuming you mean a suzuki King Quad 500?
It's a decent atv- $5900 seems a bit high unless it only has 300 miles on it.

I noticed the kelly bluebook is a bit on the low side for atv values (has a 2008 can-am 800xt listed at $5800- and my 2011 outlander 800 max xt listed at around $8700... good luck finding one of those for that price  )
but it'll get you a ballpark figure.

I'd say that 500 KQ should sell somewhere between $4900 - $5300 depending on condition & options. The dealer probably picked it up for around $2800 - $3000 as a trade-in or even less at auction.
