Fair price question (Polaris)

Fair price question (Polaris)
Was wondering what a fair price would be for a 2002 Sportsman 500HO. My uncle owns it, and I know he will be more than fair, I just want to know what something like this would be worth on the street. It has a clutch issue, dead battery, hasn't been used in about 2 years (see below).
2002 Polaris Sportsman 500HO
1200 miles
No optional accessories except for the rear passenger seat (aftermarket, not Polaris)
I'm assuming I'll have to go through the carb, replace the battery, fix the clutch issue. While I'm in there I'll be replacing all fluids, belt, fuel lines, as well as preemptively replace the infamous breaker that I have read so much about.
All that being said, what would be a fair price to pay knowing all of the above?
Thanks for the input fellas!

I ran an NADA report, came in at $1,800 average and $2,200 high.
Seeing as this thing needs work right out of the box (and it's family) I figured I'd offer something like $1,000ish.
The only reason I'm even entertaining the thought of buying it is because of the potential to get into it cheap.
If I was going to spend $3k on a 12 year old machine that needs work I'd spend $3-$4k more and pick something 4-5 years old that's ready to ride.
The breaker is something I was told about from a good friend, same goes for the ground strap. I figured if I have the bike torn apart for a full service I'd spend the extra couple bucks to do those little things that will prevent a total breakdown.

I could see paying $1,800-$2,200 for a ready to ride machine of this age. Not something that needs hundreds of dollars worth of parts (maintenance & repair parts)....never mind if I had to pay someone to fix it! It would likely need $1,000+ to bring up to speed.

ATVs don't really drop value like cars, in fact most usually bottom out around $3000 depending on condition
most of the work you listed is just things you want to do and may not actually be necessary so you really can't factor that into the price. the battery is like $100. the clutch is about the only thing you listed that would worry me which could be something small or could be $1000. with all of that in mind i'd pay like $2000-$2500
