Was looking for some input on purchasing a new to me atv, I started riding later in life and purchased a warrior 350 from a neighbor and ridin it the last 2 years, I've pretty much done every bolt on type mod I can do and at first it was perfect but found myself now wanting more. I'm in southern oregon and most of my riding will just be forest roads/woods and maybe 1-2 dunes trips a year. 90% of my riding will be woods/trails. I've got a budget of 3000 tops or my wife will kill me. I've been looking and in my immediate area It looks like I can choose between some 400exs, every once and a while a z400 will pop up close to my range and I saw 2 predator 500s both looked beat, one or 2 raptor 660s also best looking. Most my friends have banshees and I can afford one in decent shape but not sure I want the hassle. I like low maintenance. Any first hand experience, I believe any of the above will be quite the upgrade from my 20-21 hp warrior.

 

I have a few friends who have/had the Honda 400ex. Great reliable quad for what you're describing. Predator 500 has a pretty bulletproof engine. Not sure on the HP numbers.
