Buying first quad, need help in finding a solid yet cheap one
So I'm 13, and am looking at buying my first quad. I have riding dirt bikes my whole like, you can put me on any bike from a 80-500cc and rip. But when It comes to a quad I'm clueless on what to look for when buying used, what is good and what's not? I was looking at the blaster but me being 6 foot 170 pounds and not done growing I don't think so. So what else is a good quad, that won't break every ride, that goes for a average of 1700 or lower? Would prefer no Chinese pos or junk "project" quads. Mainly going to be used for riding on dirt roads, trails, dunes, small jumps, and the occasional police run xD

while looking at the 300ex I saw a 400ex for about 1500... Only thing it says it is bone stock and is clean and runs great, is it worth it?

I was going to mention the 400ex but I didn't want to get your hopes up in finding one for that price and there not be one. Definitely be worth checking out. If you were to go look at it, I would take a friend or family member who is knowledgable about quads to make sure its as sound mechanically as it sounds like it is. Bone stock is usually a plus in used quads in my opionion. Honda 400ex is a solid quad. Good luck.

If you were willing to spend a little more than $1500, you could pick up a Yamaha Raptor 660. Its a Yamaha so it'll run forever and have plenty of power for someone your size, as well as being a full size racing quad. They usually go for around $1800-$2200 here in NY. I've had Raptors since I started riding and I love them.

Yes, the 400ex is defiantly worth it. Im 14 and 5'10 (but a lot lighter). I have a 400ex and its great. They are pretty big so you won't be scammed in any way. Also, the first gear is slow for when your getting used to the quad but the 5th gear can get over 60mph.
400ex is a great quad. For your price range, you can find a stock 400ex.
P.S. Mine was $2,400 but has new tires, new battery, new spark plug, nerf bars, bumper, and great condition
