Hauling new ATV
 

Getting back into it. Bought a 5x8 Utility trailer. Plan to pull with a Toyota Tacoma pick up.

Question can the Tacoma pull one older Sportsman 700 and haul in bed new 570 Sportsman same time? Is it too much taxing on truck? I wouldn't think so but looking for your input.

You'll be fine. Now if you had an old Ranchero or El Camino or something like the old Chevy Luv, that might be a different story :lol:

Trucks are made to haul thousands of pounds. It shouldn't even be very noticeable.

Check your cargo capacity, but you should be ok. That would be weight of gear in bed and tongue weight of trailer (which won't be much.) Plus passengers and gear in the cab. I really wouldn't worry to much though, the quads and trailer combined shouldn't be over 2k.

Should easily do it. If your ramps are long enough, you shouldn't need to unhook the trailer to load and unload the 570 from the bed. They should reach from the floor of the trailer to the truck bed. So once you unload the 700 from the trailer, you should be able to then unload the 570 from the truck bed onto the trailer and then onto the ground.

If you have the 6 cylinder, I'd, personally, get a trailer that will fit both. If not, give it a try. See how it feels around where you live before you go on a long haul anywhere. The smaller pickups don't have a ton of weight carrying capacity. Both a quad in the bed and one on a trailer might be pushing it a bit.

PS I have a Nissan Titan. I've had my large Outlander Max in the bed and pulled a trailer with 3 full sized quads on it. I had a leaf added to each side of the suspension in the back and it now pulls/totes that kind of load very confidently. Before I added the extra leaf to each side it could get a bit sketchy at times.

A trailer like this one would be ideal 8x8 aluminium 2 bike trailer. I like the side load option and ability to ride on and ride off. These type of trailer new are pretty expensive though, $750 for an 8x8 that can haul 2 quads isn't bad. And it being aluminum, its very lightweight as well which makes it easy to tow.

I had one of those and it was great until we got a Polaris ATP (long) and a Polaris Sportsman X2. With the ramps/sides up it would scrape the front and rear plastics a bit. Perfect for two regular length machines. Was nice riding on and off the ramps.
