Purchasing ATV have some questions for you guys.

Right now i have a Suzuki king quad '95, 4wd, high, low, superlow, diff lock, and absolutely love it. Its been a total workhorse for since i bought it new. I really like all the features and have been looking to buy another, with the exact same everything...

However, im looking to spend under 2500, and havent been able to find very many for sale (located in CO). Im hoping to expand my search options a little bit, with other brands that have the same features, diff lock, 4wd, H L and superlow.

This wont be a joy riding atv, it will be used to pull lots of heavy trees, in extremely rough terrain 9 mos a year nearly daily. The suzuki i have has been absolutely amazing for this kind of stuff, a workhorse. My brother has a polaris, with the inertia drive, (i think its called, more like a snowmobile engine, with no manuel shifting) and i really havent been impressed with it, its broken down a few times, and parts are really expensive, at least more so than suzuki, and has ripped the cv joint boots, twice in 3 years doing nothing more than what we do with the suzuki.

Anyhow, back to my original question, what other brands have the features i described above and have a manuel shifting engine, much like a motorcycle, not the polaris inertia drive type i mentioned above, 4wd, diff lock, and high low end tourqe for pulling down trees, etc.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The only other quad that I can think of would be the Yamaha Big Bear 400 4x4. Its foot shift just like the Suzuki with high/low range as well. Most every other quad is an auto except for the Honda and they didn't get diff-lock until just a couple years ago.

Did anyone other than Suzuki make a quad with super-low? I haven't heard of one.

I use my old 2001 AC 500 to pull out logs. While it only has 10 speeds fwd, 2 reverse, it will pull like hell in 4x4 low in 1st gear. It doesn't have diff lock, but if I can ever get the front tires to spin, I just touch the brakes and they lock up. My 2002 400 is a close second. Both motors are bulletproof Suzukis, btw! No slouches, 400 tops out at 57 mph, the 500 over 60 mph. Here is a pic of the 500 and the 400. Take a look at the older AC'S with manual shift, even the old Bearcats.

No other quad has the super low like the KK. Those little machines are bullet proof and the people that have em are going to keep them. Had one and that little machine would go every ware the big boys would go. You can also do a easy mod to them to the diff lock will operate in high and low as well.
