Sport Quads with IRS
 

Hello, I am new to yalls group. I currently own a Yamaha Blaster an am saving up for a bigger quad. Was wondering what all sport quads they make with IRS? Been trying to find a 09-11 Polaris 525 IRS but was wondering what else was out there? Thank you!

The Honda TRX700XX has IRS. Even Polaris and Can-Am make 850 cc+ machines with IRS. Some might argue that these machines are not true sport quads because of their weight and that they are 4x4s. Considering the suspension they have and the performance they are capable of, there is no question that they are the modern sport quads. Good for MX? No.

nachop said exactly what I would. 2wd sport quads with IRS are limited to the Polaris Outlaw that came with either a 500 or a KTM 525. Honda made the 700xx. Both have been discontinued so it may be a bit before someone sells one on the used market.

Both the Polaris Scrambler 850 and 1000 are a hoot to ride. As said, they are 4wd but very quick and have good suspension packages.

Can-Am makes the Renegade 570, 850 and 1000. Also crazy fast and have 4wd. Used Renegades are available with either a 500 or 800. These handle very lightly for such heavy quads. like the Scramblers mentioned. When my son went from the Renegade 500 to a Polaris Scrambler XP1000 I found myself wishing I had the money to buy the 500 off him. Was a very fun quad.

Irs is nice for more ground clearance but if you were riding a blaster and getting by just fine with an atv that probably has the least amount of ground clearance there is, I'm guessing you're really looking for something with more power and better ride. Finding a Polaris Outlaw or 700xx might be harder than spotting Bigfoot. You might check out a more powerful sport quad like a Raptor 660. You can find one of those used in good shape for about $2000 and it would be a big step up from a Blaster. Its probably the biggest bang for your buck as far as sport quads go. The old tried and true Honda 400ex is a good choice too.
