Hey, is this a good machine for me? I am going to use it for recreational riding and some light utility. How does this compare to the Polaris Sportsman 500? I have been considering both of these. How much do these go for? And also, could somebody give me a comparasin on both machines? Thanks

I have 300 miles on my 500 Auto Cat.I also have about 500 miles experience on the
Sportsman 500. I like both machines. They are about the same power, the Polaris rides
slightly better, the clutch engagement on the Cat is far better than the Polaris. Both are
great machines. My only knock on my Cat is the range selector is kinda sticky , shifting
from reverse or into low range. Not a big deal. I bought the Cat for its better overall "feel"
when I rode it. I have not been sorry.I love mine.

Im sure the AC500 is agood machine, but in my opinon nothing beats the Sportsman 500,cost is proably going to be more but to me its worth it, its just a great all around machine.

I payed 6250 for my 99 500cc Sportsman.I have heard of prices as low as 5400 on the Sportsman.I bought the Sportsman because it simply has alot more options on it than others in it's class. In fact,it's really in a class of it;s own.To some, these options mean very little,to others like myself, they mean alot. You are the only one that can truly answer the questions of the importance of the options from one quad to another.I will not try to sway you one way or the other. All quads have differant characteristics that make it more or less superior to it's counterparts.Best of luck on your decision.====BILL
