They are surprisingly close. First, the easy choice: If you are going to do any work with it at all then hands down get the Eiger. The Wolverine has a so-so low gear but the Eiger has both Lo and Hi ranges. Work wise, the Eiger will run circles around the Wolverine.
For trail riding you have one of the few 4x4 sport bikes vs a sport utility. If you compare the specs, there is just not much difference anymore. What was considered pure sport 5 years ago has crossed over into the sport ute area. The Yamaha is lighter and has a little more suspension, The Suzuki has a larger, peppier engine. I think you'd find little difference running them side by side on the trails. Toss in things like larger tires, an oil cooler and cooling fan and I think the edge goes to the Eiger.
