use heat on the brake hub?
And remember... heat expands the metal... so if anything you'd heat the "nut". Cool the rotor hub.
Like AZ said....
However, I found out all this the hard way. You go lefty tighty... righty loosey. It actually tightens against the colar on the axle and pushes the brake rotor to the axle bearings. Odd... but genious if I say so myself.
MAKE SURE to loosen the pinch bolt Then turn the collar as if you were to tighten it. You'll have to use some force the first time. I did anyway. Now... mine's smooth as silk since I've lubed it all up.
BTW, What's a "Rad" axle???
And if we're all on the same page... go check all the other posts on removing it. Search on "axle" and you'll be amazed at the info. Or search on "hub".... it'll pull up a lot too.
Man am I embarrased to now know what DS is referring to.... "rad" axle.... hmmmmm.... rear? no. Heck I don't know.
Come someone enlighten me????
