best i can get right now with stock everything is about 7900rpm. I do have the vortex cdi box, but havent made it past the 7900 mark yet. It might also have something to do with my tires having that tire goo in em, and it makes the bike wobble really bad starting at the top of fourth.

15-40 gears, Razr 20" rear tires, uni filter, Pro Circut Slip on. I can hit the limiter at 7900 in fifth on a flat, not up a even small hill. I weigh 300lbs.

I have a completely stock 2002 DS Baja if i slowly increase speed it stops at 7900 RPM's. If I drag race and i hold it wide open it will rev to 8400 RPM's. I bought it brand new from the dealer and have never changed anything. Im also 6'7" and 380lbs.

Damn. Any lightweights around? <200 lbs..

Also, 8400 RPMs in 5th gear with stock tires and sprockets...with a 380 lbs. rider... WOW... That has to be one of a kind or something...

And by stock motor I mean no cams, piston or springs...

Lightweights? What? We like to throw our weight around. So tell us how high you can make it in fifth gear and what you weigh.

I weigh 170 6'1" and I use 14 front, 40 rear and 22 inch tires. The reason I'm asking is I want to know if I'm in danger of over-revving if I leave it pinned in 5th because I do not have a tach...

I wouldn't be that worried about over-revving it. The power drops off by 8000 rpm's so you probably won't hurt it. Where do you run that you can actually get it up to that speed. Down here I run on an old blacktop road. A little illegal, but fun.

Hey Spinner, I have 14/40 with 20" tires, I can hit the limiter with that setup (a big ol 65mph or so) but it's really hard to tell when it kicks in at that speed (no tach). Mines stock except for gearing and I think it starts to poop out before the limiter, I'm modifying my end cap now so maybe that will make it more noticeable. Oh and I weigh about 185lbs. I may try to pick up a CDI after the holiday.

Damn Spincycle,

your geared pretty damn low and i have no doubt that you can bounce off that limiter in 5th no problem... K, thanks guys... I wont be 'fraid to bash it and leave it to the pin in 5th

Thanks
