Doah,
Lets try this again. Has anyone tried to remove the rear tire studs? I stipped one and need to replace it. I just can't seem to get enough torque on the 8mm allen wrench. Any ideas?

You may want to try the allens that are attached to a socket.

I've replaced one and don't remember it being that tough but, I probably used the socket from the start. That yellow Loctite that comes on them is some tough stuff.

along with using a ratchet drive allen. use a good tool brand. snap on, mac, matco. the cheep ones will just twist the allen stock off. you also might try a impact driver.

I'd try heating the threads with a torch, usually the loc-tite will turn to dust. I know this worked on my motor mount bolts.

BUT, if your threads on the studs are damaged then the threads in the hubs will probably be damaged when you remove them.

Be Careful!!!!!

Thanx Guys,
I really stripped them bad to the point that there are no grooves left on the stud. I just need to get them to loosen in the hub. I will look for a 8mm allen socket and try that with the heat and see what happens. I just can't believe how freakin tight that thing is on.

I had to use a chisle to get mine out. I broke off a matco allen even when I heated mine. If the stud is really bad now anyways, take it to a welding shop and have them weld a nut onto the stud then you can screw it out.
