won't start
 
my 01 ds wont start. when I hit the start bottun It just clicks. I tried to pull start it and it still would not start. does anyone have any ideas

have you tried charging the battery yet? Ive herd that the battery needs to have a charged battery to get spark.

99% probability that it is your battery- take it over to auto zone and have them load test it, You could also jump start the bike from your car or truck if it starts right up guess what?

a car battery will be to many amps for a motorcycle/quad. you run the risk of cooking you regulater/rectifier or cdi.

Check you fuses too.

Start at the easy ponts.

Fuses, battery and starter connections, etc.

This is an old wives tale. 12 volt is 12 volts, doesnt matter what size the package is.
Just make sure the motor on the car, is not running, because then the cars alternator is running and could be putting out 16 volts, which would cause damage.
The starters resistance will determine how much amps will flow. Volage x resistance = amps. So any 12 volt battery will be fine to jump with, just make sure the donating vehicle isnt running.

not true. the starter will take more amps if they are available. and they are. try it on yours and see what happens. maybe nothing. but, you will have a hoter starter and cables than usual. it would be better to jump from another small battery.
