Ok...I know they blow...but they're free!!!
Ok...I ended up with a brand new pair of FREE Geckos....ok, you can all stop laughing... anyways, I'm frigg'n broke as he!!, so I'm going to use them. They came mounted on brand new .190 rims too, but they have a Yamaha bolt pattern. Has anyone ever heard of drilling out a different bolt pattern on rims that have already been drilled? I think there is enough room between the holes to do this... I have a set of rims that have mounting holes for a Kawi, and a Honda... So I think this would work on these rims.
Suggestions? (Besides tossing the Geckos) Justin |

I have drilled out rims before for lighter bikes but never the DS. Your other option would be to have your hubs machined for the other bolt pattern. This is great not only to be able to run a smaller rim but Yamaha wheels are everywhere.....

My best friend bought them, and only used them once, maybe twice. He gave them to me for my birthday, and because he's going to pick up some Haulers before this next dune season starts.

I have had a good machine shop redrill rims to a ds pattern. The biggest thing is location so they don't wobble up and down when they spin. The shop used a lathe to mark the diameter and a mill to get the holes in the right location. $25. And we won't laugh. The rims are worth more than that if you ebay them and buy a set in the right bolt pattern.
