My DS650 is keeps spinning rod bearings!!!

Anyone ever heard of a DS650 go through cranks and/or spin a rod bearing like they are going out of style? If so how did they fix the problem?

the only time I've heard of someone losing a rod or crank bearing was due to loss of oil flow to those areas. Maybe you have a blocked oil passage that is causing the problem- sounds like its time to break out the carb cleaner and compressed air and go thru the oiling system- good luck!

What Major said.

You may want to look into a Falicon Roller Bearing Set-up!

It will change it to a 691cc bike which will be great for trail riding and duning (torquey).

Roller bearings don't require the kind of oil the stock bearings do so, if there is an issue with the oil, even if you miss it you should be fine.

thats the first time i have seen that falicon stroker crank. Has anybody out there tried it? Seems somewhat reasonable too.

the DS bottom end bearing design is very very strong!!!!

the oil tank has a screen attached to the hose fitting. you need to remove the fitting and clean the screen periodically. if dirty, starves the oil pump of oil.

it's not wise to use a stop leak to fix oil leaks, you'll just plug the screen up.

there is also a screen above the crankcase drain plug (inside crankcase) that can get plugged, slowing down the rate of return oil to the tank.

the 2000 models require bleeding the oil system. there is a large screw with spring loaded ball behind the oil filter that needs to be unscrewed. turn motor over (with ignition off) with oil full and spark plug out until you no longer see air bubbles coming out of the hole where screw was removed.

does your oil pressure light and oil pressure sender work?

have you measured oil pressure with a gauge.

what type and weight of oil are you using?
