Spark Plug - DR9EA - Who's running them?
Are most higher compression guys running these plugs?
Any running DR10EA? Stock is DR8EA. My understanding is the DR9EA is a cooler plug so will have less of a tendancy to cause pre-detonation? Thanks. |

I run the 9's but I want to run the 10s.

I'm running the DR9EA on a 11:1 piston. Never tried anything else, so I can't speak to the gains or losses.

See above as to why you may want to run the cooler plug.
Compression creates heat. . . pre-detonation. |

And thus if you are borderline on the compression octane idea, say runnin 11.5-1 on 93 octane, could you use a DR9EA or a DR10EA and get away with it? Or would it at least help reduce the chances of a boom?

I run the 9's and my heat is exactly at the turn on the ground strap can't get any better than that

I run 9's on the bottle. With the 8's I would melt a plug (only twice though). I could back the jetting down on the bottle and be fine, but what fun is that....lol
Oh and just fyi I have been running 28 n20 and 31 fuel, which is around a 30 shot on the stock piston. Everything has been good so far. Got about 20 lbs through it. |
