silver lake sand dunes?

cc,
no table tops or flat topped dunes. just rolling dunes some steeper than others. it was very easy to be coming up a nice rolling dune on one side and just wheeling down the other. but believe me there is plenty of opportunity to launch your quad and get some serious air and maybe even scare the hell out of yourself while doing it.

This weekend will be very good conditions at Silver Lake. I've been watching the weather and it is supposed to be sunny and in the 70's Friday through Sunday. It could be a very busy weekend, if so your best bet is to be there at 5:30PM Friday and get in line at the voucher center (1 mile up the road from park entrance) they only give out 180 vouchers for the parking lot and it's first come first served. If you can haul your ATV into the dunes in the back of a dune ready 4X4 truck (10' flag and ORV sticker) you won't need a parking voucher.
As far as jumps are concerned, there are plenty of great jumps and a wide variety too. It has been very windy and rainy the past two weeks, which smooths and reshapes the dunes- they are different from day to day. I think I'll be there Saturday if I can skip out of a wedding I'm invited to.
