ds800??
Is a longer swing arm necessary on a 800? If you want to keep the front end closer to the ground it is!
Unless you are running the stock knobbies or cheap paddles which will spin like crazy instead of lifting the front wheels towards, you will want a longer swing arm. It would be a waste if you spent $4k+ on the motor but couldn't use it because every time you got on the gas you were planted on your back.
On my 730 I am running the stock swing arm. My paddles aren't the best at hooking up, 20" 9 paddle extremes (too small, 22" would be way better). I am keeping the stock swing arm because I also trail ride and I like how my DS handles right now. While out in the dunes its very fun to ride, the front end comes up when you want it to with no effort, but its not a constant wheelie machine like the raptor which can be a pain to dune b/c every time you get on the gas the front end comes up, then you can't steer. Not having a longer swing arm really sacrifices my ability to launch hard at a drag start. If I were to gas it and dump it hard I would end up on my back in no time. I don't drag race that often so its not that big of deal to me.

I was piloting BigBajas DS at Dumont and it DEFINIATELY needs the longer swingarm. He also needed to make a couple other set-up changes that he's already made and we'll really do some damage.
Sandaholic, Your right, if your going to spend alot of money on a 800cc with carbs and pipe it will set you back up probly near $6500+ I would imagine. (just an edjucated )<sp-guess) All that motor will be well worth it for some people and to not get the swingarm MAKE NO SENSE at all too me!!!
The HPR 800cc is a VERY fun bike to ride.
