2006 Outlander 800 H.O. EFI

The way i look at it, you got the power (but more) of a sp800 and the weight of a griz. That is a good combo! I'm gonna wait for test drives to come out in magz and hear if there is any flaws or whatever b4 i think of investin in a Outlander. For now i'm gonna stay put with my DS, but it would be nice to have both.
I wouldn't be suprise to see a 1000cc stock quad in a year or so. 5 years back a 500cc sled was a good size. Nowadayz when i go ridin with friends, they make my Polaris XC700 look small.

And the V800 twin is based off the V1000 used in their Skidoos
The Rotax® 4-TEC V-1000, displacing 1,000 cc, is the first two-cylinder, four-stroke engine specifically designed for snowmobiles. Engine-builder Rotax® is known throughout the world for its four-stroke expertise: the 4-TEC V-1000 is one of the cleanest in the world, with generous trail torque and a throaty sound. It reduces emissions by as much as 50 percent and improves fuel economy by as much as 25 percent.
Furthermore, because of its 80-degree V-configuration, the engine can be mounted very low on the platform and weight is reduced by eliminating the need for a balance shaft.Launched in 2001, this engine was showcased during the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, where Bombardier was the official supplier of snowmobiles.
BRP introduced its first ATV in 1998 and has been the fastest-growing brand in the industry ever since

I remember a while back when a 250 was big and a 350 was just out of your mind power for an ATV. before long an 800 will be a light weight. I'm looking to buy a new big bore within a couple years and get rid of my crap Grizz. The new Bomb sounds pretty good.

My friends just bought a 660 griz about a month ago. Not 2 many hours on it let. He hit a little rut on a road, which made him bend a stiring rod in the front. The rod made the tires turn in diff. directions and it crapped out his whole front...lol

Ski doo may have been last in the mid 80's to about 93 , when the f-chassis came out it was a strong chassis to beat , and no-one could match the power of the rotax 780 mach z ! When the s -chassis came out in 96 they dominated the sled industry ! the zx chassis came out in 99 and they were still on top ! then the infamous firecat , I think they went back to no. 2 spot that yr. Then the REV , and they were back on top and never looked back !

They sat at number 2 under polaris for a while. Even with the F-cat came out, Cat still sat at number three. Then doo overtook polaris in 03 and has gained roughly 10% marketshare even since. Even after the release of the fusions, Doo took another 2% of the market. That's called a strong lineup...but anyways..this is an atv forum.
offroad.com/atv/ said the new outlander is heavier than the polaris and the other quads. They need to get their facts....it's voer 100 pounds lighter than the sportsman 800 or should i say sportsman 760. damn thing is only 760cc
