I know it is not released yet, however I would like to know what you think of the new 800? I think the new King Quad advanced the state of the art in ATV's, will this machine advance it furthur?

I see you own a King Quad, and I bet you really like your king quad. I mean why not? it's a nice machine. No disrespect here, but the new outlander 800 puts it to shame. As it does w/ the SP800 and Brute Force....It's the nicest ATV I have ever ridden PERIOD!

If I needed a sport ute quad it would be the one that I would be buying. Hell it is the nicest quad that money can buy right now for the utility market.

What is your 1st impression of the new Outlander 800?

1st impression: Too expensive

2nd impression: Too heavy

3rd impression: Looks nice, might have enough power. I might just be interested in one of the two seaters, ... if I win the lottery.

I agree with Dooski7c. I drove both the 800xt and the 800 max xt and they are both better in ever in every respect than the King Quad. However, I do believe that you are correct in saying that the King Quad set the bar for handling with IRS and for fuel injection and overall capability when it came out. Bombardier really did their homework and created the 800 to be the best in all the important catagories, power, power delivery, suspension, handling and overall fun factor while keeping the machine on the light side for the size of the machine. I ordered the 800 MAX XT and it should be at the dealer for pick up in early August. I hear in the USA only the regular 800 will be available for a while but here in CAnada they are shipping the max model to dealers that gave early orders.

I'm unclear here, some of you have ridden the new Outlander. Is it out?

Desertviper to heavy?? It is 639lbs. The 800 sportsman is 765 lbs. IMO that is very light for a 800cc big bore. I dont think you can get much lighter.

No it's not out yet.

BRP had a series of dealer demo rides throughout Canada and US last month, the dealers invited some of their customers. They normally had a King, Poo800 and a BF there to compare.
