How much weight do you save with a gun drilled over stock? Is it worth it?

Factory axle with steel sprocket star weigh's about 19lbs. My gun drilled axle with aluminum star weighed 8lbs. Its worth it to me.

After watching alot of racing in the last few months. The light weight components are well worth there weight in gold. I have been seeing bikes with alot less horsepower take out bikes with a ton more power. Good example is Finishlines small Yzf. Everything on the bike is lightened in some way. There bike is a stock bore Yzf, with cams, piston, and headwork. Its been giving big bore bikes fits for months now.

WoW I can't believe the power you guys are getting out of these bombers. Hope to meet up with a few of you guys at the sand dunes this winter so I can see one of these big bores run.
Also where is a good place to get a light axle or a gun drilled axle for a decent price ?
