Has anyone seen a DS650 on the Oregon Dunes yet? Or at any Oregon dealerships yet for that matter?

I live in Medford and the dealer here (Performance Motorsports) said they are expecting a demo next week, I am gonna check it out and hopefully ride it, I can't wait to see one at the dunes!!

When you do see a DS650 at the dunes, keep in mind that the stock dominator tires are for dirt and not sand. I did some sand riding today with the stock tires and it was pathetic in deep soft sand. In shallow sand it was better but I still couldn't get the power to the ground quite like I do on dirt. If I do any dragging in a sand environment I need to consider different tires.

I you think the DS is bad on sad with stock tires imagine how the banshee would be in soft sand with its stock tires. reason i say this is..that is how dirtwheels tested the two..just thought i would mention it

Loofer, in that test, BOTH MACHINES had stock tires. Therefore, neither machine got the traction it could have. In my opinion, that makes the test pretty lame, but no, as many people try to insist, they did not test a DS with paddles vs. the Banshee with stock dirt tires. I'm not sure if you're aware of that, but I'm sure even if you are, many of the other people reading the forums don't seem to be. If people are unsure, re-read the article, they clearly state they had two on hand, one with 100% stock tires, and one with paddle rears. Hopefully they'll do a test later with the exact same tires on both, that will at the very least take the tire question out of the exam.

Try going to Sand Lake next Friday, maybe Saturday. One of my riding buddies bought one from Gonnason's here in Kent, WA. and is itching to go try it out. I rode it up and down the street for a few passes and was not impressed...

Personally,
I think its a waste of time to ride ANY machine in sand without paddles. Just robs too much power.
