Well, you certainly dont need to believe everything you read in the magazines....they seem to be very bias. LOL!

If you want more topend, you might want to try a gearing change. If you pulling him that bad out the hole then that might be all you need. If you need more power, then you need to look into buying a carb. Yeah, that will make you smile,

LOL! Thanks. I get comments quite often from parents who say their kids like my bike...I like that. In fact, thats one of the reasons for doing the Spiderman theme.

Yeah, the main jet does manipulate the 3/4 to full throttle. But, I wouldnt say that it will guarantee you more topend.

Why are you running a smaller main jet with a pipe than he is with a stocker?

Were you both racing at 4200 ft? I don't know if you have dyno tuned your carb but if that isn't practical, I would do a nice long run at WOT, kill power and coast to a stop then check your side plug. If it is white or ashen gray, you need more fuel. If it is a nice light brown color, you should be fine. Look elsewhere. Before I changed anything else, I would make sure you are getting enough fuel at the top end. To me the main jet sounds small even for 4200 ft.

Max are you both running the same height of tires?
Taller tires will give you more top end.

Excellent point. Figure out everything that is different in the comparison. If he has taller tires, that will also hurt his bottom end giving you an advantage off the line.
