Silver lake Trip
Guys what town is silver lake in? Is the town silver lake or the area because it is not on a michigan map! Please post the actual name or maybe it is so small its not on a map anyway I need to know the area it is in. Thanks

At this time I can't commit to an Eastern DS Days for late July. My father is having his ankle fuzed sometime this summer and that weekend could be a conflict. If not, I'll gather the troops and see everyone there. I met Wayne'r last year and he's fast on that YFZ. A smaller guy to boot so he even looks fast.

Who wants to vollunteer for making up some sort of organization for drags?
For those interested, Badlands is 6 hours south of Silver Lake, there is camping at the Badlands now, and also lodging near by. When I make the webpage for DS Days I will include links to Badlands and links for local lodging and campgrounds, as well as links for all the Silver Lake info. I live one hour from Badlands, know it well, so if there is interest here too then we can plan a day after Silver Lake and I'll give the grand tour.
FYI Silver Lake is 500 acres of ridable dunes, badlands is 800 acres of a mix of open sand hills and woods trails, the sand at badlands is not dune sand, it is gravelly and does not drift, so bring knobbies for it cause it will eat paddles for lunch.

Hightower thought i also add that they just remodeled the badlands made the hills taller and its alot more fun with alot of uphill jumps

HT knows - he shot me an email about it. Its good to hear they did/are doing that though as those hills were really not much fun anymore since they got so eroded and anyone could ride straight up them.

Not sure if my Project DS will be ready but my Stage III Certainly will be. It all depends how fast I get this Bottom end out to HPR and how much money I have to bring her back home. I e-mailed Randall today and going with a 770.00. I'm getting a new radiator in hopes to cool it down a little better.
Dabomb I am looking to stay 5 days or so. Some of my buds might not come with me because he can only get so many days off, but the trip is too long for me to only be there for like 3 days. Hopefully I can convince my mom to go this time and she can really see it for what it is worth. I went too early last ear and it was not as fun as I had hoped (cold, rainy, etc.)
You guys, I would need you all to pose for a group picture. The few who knows me I take a lot of pics so bear with me when we all meet up. I'm looking forward to meeting you all. Let's spank some YFZs!! (No offense Wayne)
Wayne me bringing my kid or not will depend if you bring yours with an ATV. So keep me posted. They got along great last time... I will be sure to bring a Latop full with games, PSP, and the Xbox 360 so they can chill. My mom stated your son (like mine) is very well behaved.

Big 10-4 on the group pic Entomber, when the date gets closer we should schedule a time and place for all to meet for it, maybe with Lake Michigan in the backdrop? The group will be so big that we will prolly not all be together the whole time, but we can schedule a meeting for the photo.

Very good point 05dsrider, Badlands is under a renovation that will make the riding in the two main bowls this year better than it has been for nearly a decade! This is the year to hit Badlands, whether you've been before or not.
Huge loaders are being used to bring sand from the bottom to the top, remaking the hills much taller and steeper, with lots of uphill jumps created too.
If we meet at badlands on a weekday after Silver Lake, there will not be many there besides us, and we will practically own the place.

Hopefully we will be able to hit up the badlands with the group as well as I really miss riding those bowls!
And entomber im with you on the picture part- I love taking pics and video (I have 12 gigs of pics on my HD right now half of which are from riding). So yes we will definitely have to set up a time to take some good group pics.
