a few clutch q's
Okay so i am gonna order some ron woods 60% clutch springs. i am running all stock clutch. i had to replace it once because of massive slippage and all the plates were fried, so i figure if i put these stiffer springs in it will prevent that from happening again. so i am asking if the rw springs work well with stock plates? and also i need to know what the torque settings are for the bolts that hold the springs in place are. thanks

Hmmm... what kind of oil do you run in your DS? Certain oils cause slippage. Those springs will work great.
Torque specs for the springs are: 89inch lbs The cover bolts are the same. |

I am running OEM plates with RW 60% srpings.....works great!
Made a BIG difference, really grabs. I see mudinuri got you the torque settings. inch pounds not foot pounds. |

p.s. if your new clutch is slipping now, it's fried, too. Once the plates have glazed, no sanding or scratching will bring them back to the way they are supposed to be. I would highly reccommend the Barnnett HD, 9 disk Dirt Digger clutch pack. Use the RW springs with it and you'll probably never have to replace again.
Make sure to soak those new plates in the same oil overnight. Some say at least 1/2 hr. Overnight is old school and works for sure. |

make sure you use inch pounds not foot. or you won't be riding.

While we're on the subject... is there a gasket thats needs to be replaced when replacing the clutch... I just got the Barnett and Woods 60%'s and I want to have everything when I start so I don't have to wait on parts once I crack it open.

You should remove the cover very carefully and can probably re-use it. I did and never had a problem and many inhere suggested the same thing.
I think I miss my DS :-( |

Thanks Mud... oh about missing your Bomb, you could just put some Rotax stickers on that YFZ you got.
