DS650 won't start
 

Hey guys, I got my 2000 DS650 out of storage and it will not start. Before attempting to run it I drained the old fuel out (except what was in the carb) and replaced the spark plugs. It would not start so I took the carb off and cleaned it. It's got good spark and it's getting fuel. I've had the carb off twice now and still nothing. It back fired a few times and now fires but dies as soon as you take your finger off the start button. HELP!

I would check and make sure you have voltage to your coils when the run switch is in the on position and you are not pushing the start button and when you are pushing the start button. Might be a bad or dirty switch or broken wire.

I would allow gas to run though the carb because you just drained it, make sure there is enough gas left, and make sure the gas is on at the fuel petcock...I would also recommend making sure your battery is fully charged and if it isn't I would do so...One other thing, make sure you turn the choke on while trying to start her and make sure it is off when it is warmed up...Let me know if this helps.
