ds650 won't run
 

I thought it was the battery so I bought a new one,And it ran fine for one day. The next weekend the battery was dead.I jump started it and it will only run with the cables attached,It will not idle unless the cables are hooked up.I can't test the stator with the cables hooked up but won't run without.What could be the problem??

It needs a rectifier, I had this same thing happen to me a while back, except it cost me 3 batteries before I figured it out. It is located under your airbox, and power will go into it but none will come out or too much will come out and fry the battery. Have you installed a CDI recently? Installing a cheap one will usually fry the rectifier and battery also.
