Got the ELKA supension spring kit. It has greatly improved how the 500 handles.

Still think that BRP should have all the V Twins in the same chassis

You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

If you knew it was a rattlesnake when you picked it up, don't be surprised if it bites you. If you didn't know it was a rattlesnake, you shouldn't be messing with snakes.

I hate to sound stupid, but this quad is for your wife, right? I'm sure she won't notice the difference between the struts and dual a-arms. In fact I doubt that 80% of the people on here could tell the difference between struts and dual A-arms if given a "blind ride test". The Stock outlander shocks, for lack of a better word, suck for high speed riding. The struts on the 400 and 500 also suck for high speed riding. Great, they weren't designed for that. They were designed for a smooth ride at low speed.

I'm with the majority of people on here. If you didn't notice that the 500 has struts on the front when you bought it, then that would be your fault. You could have got a Renegade 500 for her if you wanted dual a-arms and a 500cc motor. Like I said before, I doubt that she'll notice the difference.

Ordered the 500 site unseen, assuming the were the same Quads just smaller motor. She road it around a couple weeks, then she started saying it was different than her old 330. We traded Quads, that is when I found out it did not handle as good as my 650. When I look it over, that is when I notice it was different, but it was to late to get another 650. I would have gladly paid the $600 for the better ride.
Just hoping to help others not to make the same mistake I did.

She did notice the differnce, and wasn't happy. She likes it a lot better with the new spring kit.
