There is Kelly blue book and all that, that is what we call theoretical value. Actual Cash Value is something different entirely. ACV is what you can turn this bike into *today*.

Face it, if you are comfortable with the deal, pay anything you feel it is worth TO YOU, that is all that matters. You can get a total Smoken deal, but if you don't like the bike, and wont ride it and love it, it was a waste of moneys.

I personally feel a 2006 for 3500 is of the smokin deal variety, just my opinion. I would not pay over 2K for a 2000 tho...

I saw one on the sales floor at Malcolm Smith marked down to $4,500 about 6 months ago assuming it was a 2008..........I was very, very tempted, to offer them $4K cash and see if they would bite. But since I already had 2 and did not need another, I controled my impulses. I would have sold the 2003 that I just sold to Acis a little sooner.

 

I spoke with Malcom Smith salesperson about that bike, it was higher than 4500, and they said it would not be reduced again... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Not sure if they have any left, but in this economy, cash is king. if things get a bit worse, riding season is coming and they see reduced sales, ya never know what could happen

BTW- be interesting to see in a couple of weeks at the Chaparel super sale how many show up. Last year was out of control.

The block sale is the same weekend as kickoff weekend at Dumont so I won't be able to make it this year. First one I've missed in about the past seven or so. John, good luck on picking up a set or two of those Sand Stars. You won't see alot of DS stuff down there, and what you do see won't move fast, so if they're not willing to deal up early on then just be patient.
It's over at the stadium this year so that let's you know how big it's grown. Maybe there it won't be SO crowded.
I need somebody to pick up a couple of items if you feel you'll have the time. PM for details...
