Lectron off idle stumble/miss & won't idle.
On my Lectron 48 I can't get her to idle right. I either have to set it to like 3K rpm or when I try to get to 1800-2000 like it should be she won't idle. What is the screw on top of the carb? It is turned in all the way right now. Does it act like an air screw on a conventional carb? If so which way is rich/lean? Do y'all think a needle turn adjustment might help? She runs great after the stumble. I also have a bit of popping on decel. Thanks!

I would get a hold of Eric(Mr. Hp). He's the expert. Clicky Here

I got it figured out. What I thought was a rich stumble off idle turned out to be a lean condition. I gave the rod one full turn in (richer) and now she runs and idles better than ever. What had me thinking she was rich was the black smoke when I crack her open in neutral. Now that it's richer the puff is even bigger but I guess that's just how these Lectrons like to be set up. I should have known it was lean due to the decel popping. Amazing how much control the rod setting has to do with the idle though...

Yeah, it seems the idle screw does nothing more than lift the slide to adjust the idle. Does the rod have any effect on mid-top? I assume it has nothing to do when the slide is fully open but how about mid? Is it similar to the needle on a conventional carb as far as what it affects?
