Default 2005 650 DS It will not start on it's own, you have to pull start?

The plugs that are in the motor now is one of 3 sets that I have tried, Yes the motor is turning over properly, as far as I can tell. As far as the valves go I haven't ever been into the motor, so I will try the compression test, and postany results and we can go from there. I don't have a tester at the moment so I will have to borrow one tomorrow. As far as a voltage issue I have tried to start the bike with the battery charger on the 50 amp setting, it didn't seem to make any difference, but maybe 50 amps is not enough. While I'm thinking about it I also tried the factory cdi. The only thing I haven't tried is to look at the stator and the rectifer. I do thank every one for the replies I will post tomorrow evening what I have come up with on the compression test. thanks again

if you have to pull start a ds with a good battery 9 times out of ten you have bad rings the 2000 had issues with that.
